I absolutely loved these books. Her ideas were so original, and I couldn't put the books down! I had bought the 1st and 2nd books together, but couldn't find the 3rd. I didn't think I would become so attached! By the time I finished the 2nd book, I realized I didn't have the 3rd, so I had to wait a whole agonizing week for it to come in at the library before reading. Definitely one of my favorite series :) Great review.

I think as in most creative pursuits- the creator often knows the flaws better than anyone else. At the same time though, the creator can be blind to their biggest inadequecies. I like to turn my art around and look at it in a mirror. That helps me see where my perspective is off.

I agree though, birthday candle hair would be pretty cool- especially on crazy hair day.

Thanks for commenting!

Jskittinger- I'm so glad you found us! I agree, I hope your book finds the children most in need of it. I loved that your character was nameless, as so many children can feel that way when they are displaced. It helps all of us to realize that everyone is unique and deserves love and attention, no matter what circumstances- or perhaps sometimes specifically because of the circumstances they are in.

I have been wondering recently if 'artists' are ever really satisfied with thier work, or if like your son, they will always see the birthday candles instead of spikes. Although, maybe to someone else, birthday candle hair is the coolest thing!
Good for you for taking the art class. Good luck and enjoy!

What a treat to find my book featured on your blog today! My hope is that this book will find the children most in need of it. So many children are displaced each year through natural disasters, broken homes and wrecked lives.
But, when people come together, helping one another, communities and COMMUNITY can be reborn.
Thank you for sharing my book with your readers!
